Our research process begins long before we select a single finish or piece of furniture. We start by studying the area of the new home, its setting, surrounding landscape, and architectural style to understand the context and character of the space. Meeting with our clients is the next essential step, where we carefully listen to their needs, lifestyle, and requests for each room. From there, we dig deeper into design precedents, materials, furnishings, and spatial solutions that will not only meet their practical requirements but also reflect their personality and vision. This foundation of research allows us to craft thoughtful, timeless interiors that are rooted in both place and purpose.

Our design process evolves into a thoughtful layering of information and creativity. We begin by gathering more insight from our clients by exploring their likes and dislikes, preferred colors, textures, and how they envision using each space. With this knowledge, we design the home holistically from the ground up, selecting all the hard materials that are permanently built into the architecture, such as flooring, tile, stone, cabinetry, plumbing, and lighting. Once those foundational elements are established, we shift into the soft materials starting with area rugs that anchor each room and establish the color palette and textures that will carry throughout the home. From there, furnishings, fabrics, and accents are thoughtfully layered to create interiors that are not only visually stunning but also deeply functional and personal.

The build phase is where design becomes reality, and our involvement is constant from the moment ground is broken. We are present throughout construction, beginning with framing and electrical walk-throughs, and continuing through the placement of plumbing fixtures, mechanical systems, and architectural details. At each stage, we carefully review and inspect progress to ensure accuracy and alignment with the design intent. To aid in visualization and scale, we often create templates for light fixtures, cabinetry, and furniture, allowing clients to fully experience how elements will inhabit the space. We collaborate directly with trades on site—from tile installers to millworkers—to refine details and address challenges as they arise. Our presence extends through the final stages of construction and into move-in, ensuring that every layer of the home is executed with precision and care, and that our clients’ vision is fully realized.
